Honoring Our Ancestors
December 18, 2013

Greetings Fellow Family History Sleuths,

I know you’re all super busy with your holiday plans, so I’ll keep this short. A few quick highlights: Roots travel seems to be all the rage as I’ve been interviewed about it several times this year (most recently by USAir, as you’ll see below). That said, after speaking non-stop since 2000, I’m taking a bit of a breather from the road myself so will be doing fewer events for a while, but I’ll be sure to let you know when I start meandering again!

Here’s wishing you all an abundance of memorable moments with your friends and families over the coming weeks.

See you in 2014!

Megan

P.S. Shameless plug: If you’re still looking for looking for a gift for one of your genealogy buddies, please consider one of my books! Thanks!

November 2013 Seton Shields Genealogy Grant Awarded

Jason Gavin, who recently joined the Williamson County Public Library (Franklin, TN), is receiving a grant to address preservation concerns – specifically, measures to cope with humidity in the library’s manuscript room and to protect a rare 1878 map of Franklin, Tennessee that shows family names and landholdings at that time.

Overly paternalistic. We've been DNA testing for 13 years with minimal hiccups so it needs to be regulated, eh?

I know a lot of folks have been waiting for this! (Legacy Family Tree 8.0)

Upcoming Events

After traveling around and speaking in 40 states and half a dozen countries since 2000, I’ve decided to take a breather from the road to tend to some long-neglected projects. There will likely be a few exceptions, and those will be shared here, but you can see if I’ll be in your area any time by checking my Events Calendar. A thousand thank you's to the thousands of you who have been kind enough to come to my talks over the course of these road warrior years!
